A picture perfect village

Home to the multi award winning Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway Station, this picture-perfect village is located on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.  Embsay Crag is a firm favourite with walkers, whilst the reservoir is popular for sailing and fly fishing.   The quiet and peaceful village benefits from two public houses, two places of worship, a post office, a good primary school and an outstanding nursery.

Yorkshire’s best day out is less than 5 miles away with something for all ages. The Bolton Abbey estate boasts over 30,000 acres of beautiful countryside with over 80 miles of footpaths to walk and explore. Another hidden gem located at Calm Slate Farm is Billy Bob’s. An ice cream parlour with a 50’s inspired diner and excellent play adventure is a firm favourite with locals and visitors alike.

A bustling market town

The market town of Skipton is within easy reach either by foot or by car. Skipton is a bustling market town with an award-winning high-street and market. The historic cobbled streets and passageways lead to many hidden gems. With a thriving independent food scene, artisan coffee shops, craft beer bars and traditional public houses the town has something for everyone.

Best place to live!

The attractive Yorkshire town has been named by The Times as the best place to live in 2014. In 2016 the National Campaign for Courtesy named Skipton as the country's politest place and more recently the town has been voted one of the happiest places to live in the UK! 

 

At the top of the High Street stands the impressive Gatehouse of Skipton Castle. The 900-year-old castle is one of the most complete and well-preserved medieval castles in England. 

 

The town also boasts a Grade II listed railway station which gives access to destinations such as Leeds, Bradford, Carlisle and beyond including a daily direct service to London Kings Cross.
